CAREER BACKGROUND

Rick founded BuildCollaborative in 2008 expanding upon a successful career within the real estate project management, design and construction industries. His mission is to provide personalized, best-in-class Project Management and Owner's Representative services to clients large and small; corporations to sole proprietors. Rick represents clients on all phases of project execution including site selection, planning, scheduling, budgeting, design and construction team management and move management. The combination of his real estate project management, construction management and design operations ensures that projects will be led with a thorough understanding of business practices with an emphasis on team collaboration. The success of any project is a reflection of the collaborative efforts contributed by the entire team; a core belief exemplified not only by his actions, but as evidenced in his long-lasting business relationships. Rick looks forward to putting the firm’s expertise at work for you, so that you may remain focused on yours.

A Jacksonville, Florida native and graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction and Planning, his professional relationships and management skills were forged working over 23 years with global industry leaders such as JLL, KBR and Turner Construction Company. Rick has contributed to the success of many significant and challenging projects throughout many states, including renovation and new construction projects for such well-known clients as PulteGroup, Kimberly-Clark, The Coca-Cola Company, Turner Broadcasting Company, New York Life Insurance Company and the University of Georgia to name a few. Building upon his architectural design education, Rick also has the great fortune of leading a team of talented designers on multi-family, mixed-use, tenant interior, student housing and high-rise projects throughout the region.

Rick enjoys his involvement in Junior Achievement of Georgia where he has the pleasure of teaching K-12 students about business, entrepreneurship, personal finances and workforce readiness. Rick has also participated on several Habitat for Humanity homes in Georgia and Florida.

Rick is passionate about the building industry and stays abreast of all the latest trends through his active participation in professional organizations. He has served on the Excellence in Construction and Business Development Committees for the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) in both Florida and Georgia Chapters; serving as the Business Development Chairman of the Georgia Chapter in 2000-2001. Further, he enjoys connecting with the professional community by attending events held by the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Urban Land Institute (ULI), American Institute of Architects (AIA), International Interior Design Association (IIDA), American Society of Interior Designers (ASID), Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA).
